While Selecting the keywords following points should be kept in mind:

Spider or search engine spider doesn't read the image, so you must have description in your alt tags regarding the relevent keywords.

Use inbound links to connect your web pages with each other with the help of keywords.

Content of your website should be updated on regular basis, it is better to make changes on weekly basis.

Do not duplicate your keywords as it makes the search engine in doubt of making your web as spam.

Once it is blocked, it is nearly impossible to restructure your web.

Keywords should be included in your titles, headers and meta tags.
